The Columbia Restaurant

Sunshine Needlepoint is proud to collaborate with The Columbia Restaurant, a Tampa landmark founded in Ybor City in 1905 by Spanish Cuban immigrant Casimiro Hernandez Sr. What began as a small corner café serving local cigar workers has grown into Florida’s oldest restaurant and a beloved destination for generations. Still owned and operated by the fourth and fifth generations of the Hernandez Gonzmart family, The Columbia remains the flagship of the 1905 Family of Restaurants and a cornerstone of Tampa history. This Sunshine Needlepoint collaboration features needlepoint designs inspired by The Columbia’s iconic signage, hand painted tiles, historic façade, and timeless details like the sangria pitcher, celebrating the spirit of Ybor City and the legacy of this legendary restaurant.
