Designed for complete beginners, this hands-on course will teach you how to play American Mahjong using the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) rules. You’ll learn tile identification, game setup, how to read the official National Mah Jongg League Annual Hands and Rules Card, the Charleston, passing and calling tiles, selecting hands, and basic strategy, with plenty of guided practice along the way.

By the end of the series, you’ll have the skills and confidence to join beginner open play and continue building your game. All mahjong equipment will be provided, and each participant will receive a beginner reference guide to take home.
